Back in Lagos now for a week and feeling the seperation more keenly than the first time.
Lagos is like a pressure cooker at the moment with a hood of yellow smog, dust and fog pushing it down into the ground. People are fractious and it seems everyone has gone mad together.
I guess it's difficult to get perspctive when the visibility is so bad.
You van maybe see for about 50 meters than the wall of smog blocks out evrything. The sun is hanging on this lids ceiling like a pale white disc.
The situation at the compound isn't much better as there's been no water for the last 2 days. So, it's been bottle water sponge baths for me and I have joined the ranks of fractious people. It's supposed to be the rainy season now but other than thick toxic haze there is no rain insight.
On the upside-my agency has won 2 major accounts in the last month and we should be celebrating. Sadly, this is not done here and agency treats a win and a loss the same way. What is the point of winning then, one wonders...
Very demoralising.
But I think it's just my fractiousness.
